Bruno Vlahek

 

Bruno Vlahek (Zagreb, 1986) has written orchestral, chamber, solo and choral music that has been performed on five continents, from New York and Chicago, through London, Amsterdam and Berlin to Singapore and Sydney. He was educated in Zagreb, Lausanne, Cologne and Madrid, and for his compositions he was awarded, among others, the "Porin" and "Stjepan Šulek" awards. He is a laureate of the international composition competitions such as "Cristóbal Halffter" in Spain, Zagreb Music Biennale and "New Classics - Organ Taurida" in Moscow, while his works are regularly performed by distinguished soloists and ensembles. So far, music editions have been released in Croatia, Great Britain, the USA and Russia. Apart from being a composer, he is active as a concert pianist. He is the winner of many international piano competitions, has recorded several CDs and is the holder of the honorary diploma of Queen Sofia of Spain.
