Description
Journey to the Center of the Earth Piano Suite in Five Movements (2024)

Inspired by Jules Verne’s classic 1864 science fiction novel Journey to the Center of the Earth, this five-movement piano suite, composed in 2024, embarks on a vivid musical retelling of the novel’s most striking scenes.

Here is a piano duet version of suite's final movement, a dramatic underwater battle between prehistoric sea monsters—a scene of primeval chaos rendered through a primal pentatonic scale and unpredictable rhythmic clashes. It was originally conceived as a four-hand piano duet (now available in piano solo version), this movement imagines the confrontation as a fantasy duel. As there are two monsters, two pianists represent an imaginary duel between them.

The suite aims to present contemporary pianistic expression in a way that is both accessible and imaginative, particularly for younger audiences—or indeed, for anyone young at heart, open to embarking on their own musical journey inspired by the boundless imagination of Jules Verne.
