- Description
- As I have allways been interested in sacred music, it seemed interesting to me to write my own music on the lyrics of the prayer "Ave Maria". It is scored for soprano soloist, 3-part chorus and orchestra (strings, brass, organ, harp, piano, bass guitar and perccussions/drums). The music form is made of two contrast parts (Ave Maria and Sancta Maria) and sudden coda (Amen) which reminiscents the atmosphere of the first part. The music language isn’t quite "standard" for this genre of music (though the first part is written in style of more-or-less classical church music) which is obvious in second part of this piece. In general, it is not kind of setting of Ave Maria that we are used to; it brings a different, personal sense of the text.
